After watching the clip, examine this excerpt from the work of Richard Rolle (click here), taking care to follow these instructions exactly:
First, read the editors’ introductory material, taking note of any unfamiliar terms that they use;
Second, spend 25-35 minutes (no more, no less) reading through the Middle English (the notes at the back may help with some difficult lines), taking note of any salient features that differ from your own variety. Read as much as you can in that amount of time; stop when 35 minutes is up.
